Art and culture in our Washington travel guide
Washington prides itself with a greater number of museums and art galleries than any other city in the United States. Diverse works of artists represent openness of the residents to a better cooperation among the arts. Broadway acts and major rock and jazz musicians perform in its grand theatres and concert halls.
But the center of arts and culture in Washington is in the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. This is the base of the National Symphony Orchestra and the Washington Opera, also playing host to performances by world-renowned artists. There are more than 3,300 performances a year here.
