Vienna is for music lovers

Vienna, the music capital of the world, has a lot to offer when it comes to tourism. Home to a lot of opera, and composers, Vienna carries an attraction for all music lovers with its breathtaking historic sites that will surely infuse inspiration into the minds and hearts of young and old alike through music. After a day of indulging your visual and lyrical senses, you can unwind in a nearby restaurant or food establishment to sample the rich Viennese coffee and pastries. Like to shop? Vienna is also known for its numerous flea markets and shopping places that you can browse through. Living accommodations do not pose a problem even with a tight budget since there are hotels that are priced reasonably.

 

Get the Vienna card and get access to alot of museums and other tours

To be able to start your tour of Vienna, you will have to get a Vienna Card for the ease of not having to fall in line every time you want to ride or go into a certain establishment. You can go to the Imperial Palace and Treasuries to get a glimpse of the crown jewels of Emperor Francis Joseph. You can also go to the Liizzaner museum and the Spanish Riding School next. Remember to be at the Hoher Markt at noon to see the “Anker Clock” strike the hour of 12 with life sized figurines. Then you can also visit St Rupert’s which is considered to be Vienna’s oldest church. Another church that is worth visiting is the St. Stephen’s Cathedral that is a famous Viennese landmark because of its spectacular views. You can also go to the Church of St. Charles Borromeo or the Imperial Burial Vault then to the Belvedere Palace.

 

The Hundertwasser House

The Hundertwasser House boasts of a superb architecture similar to the building style found in houses in KunstHause Wien. For food for the ears, you can go to the House of Music with presents the eccentricities of the different musical highlights. The museums are filled with art lovers and browsers alike, like the Museum of Fine Arts. Vienna’s cultural complex, MuseumsQuartier is found in outskirts of the old city of Vienna. The Central Cemetery includes the tombs of well known artists and politicians and an Art Nouveau church. For some night life and shopping, you can go visit the young and creative scene of Vienna, and show your moves.

 

Transportations in Vienna

Transportation includes the U4 or the underground train, city bus, tram, and rapid transit. Walking is still part of transportation. For ease of using the public transport, you may use a Vienna card and avoid waiting in line to buy a ticket to your destination.

An interesting part of Vienna is its flavorful gay history, from gay emperors, generals, and composers. Nowadays, one can notice traces of homosexuality in the artwork of some Austrian pieces and in Viennese politics. Events catering to gays and lesbians are well tolerated by people living in Vienna such as the Life Ball, the Rainbow Parade, Vienna in Black, and the Rainbow Ball, making Vienna a queer capital as well.
