Events and happenings in our Rio De Janeiro travel guide
Rio’s Carnival is the main attraction of this city. This is probably the biggest event in Rio de Janeiro and it takes place during Lent, usually in February or early March. The Carnival lasts for four days and the party would not be complete without Rio’s Carnival triad: samba, women and beer.
The parades in the Carnival feature mulatas, women who are barely dressed with sequin-and-feather adorned costumes. They are truly the stars of the show. The parades also have themed floats that are sights for sore eyes. This is definitely a must-see event in Rio de Janeiro.
