Las Vegas City and Travel Guide
Viva Las Vegas!
The gaming city in Nevada has been getting a lot of free publicity lately on the boob tube courtesy of the show also called Las Vegas. Not a bad development for a city that can be found in the middle of the desert and which has nothing else to offer but the gaming, entertainment and leisure lifestyle as created by its service industries. It seems that gaming, entertainment and leisure are in demand among Las Vegas visitors though since more than 38.9 million people flock to this city every year.
Las Vegas Casinos - don´t use your cell phone
But even though the city welcomes visitors with open arms, there are still some things that tourists has to remember, particularly when entering a gaming facility. Las Vegas gaming etiquette dictates that Las Vegas visitors refrain from bringing personal electronic gadgets into the casino premises. It is especially taboo to use your cellphone while playing any of the casino games. When entering the sports book area of a Las Vegas casino, pagers and cellphones must be removed from your person. Another Las Vegas rule that is strictly enforced is that gaming participants should be at least 21 years of age.
Drink alot of water when you´re in Vegas
Since Las Vegas has a desert climate, all visitors are advised to drink water – lots of water. This is particularly true in the summer, when visitors are advised to wear sunblock or sunscreen. The town facilities are generally well-secured (since they are usually gaming establishments) but it is a good thing to remember that you should be careful about your belongings wherever you go in Las Vegas. Las Vegas prides itself on providing access and amenities to the visitors who have special needs (such as being physically challenged.) You can choose among the many hotels that provide bathrooms that have bathtubs with portable or built-in seats, transfer showers, or roll-in showers. If you want to take a dip at the hotel pool, there are hotels that feature pool lifts to help guests climb in and out of the water. There are restaurants that permit wheelchair seating and gaming facilities whose slot machines are accessible for physically challenged people. And of course every Las Vegas taxi van comes with a wheelchair lift.
No1 city for weddings in the world
Las Vegas is not only a gaming city, it is also considered the wedding capital of the world. Over 122,000 couples get a wedding license from Las Vegas authorities every year which is not surprising because the regulations for getting married in Las Vegas are more lax than other cities. For one thing, couples who intend to get married in Las Vegas do not have to wait long nor have to take blood tests so long as they can prove that both parties are at least 18 years of age. If you want a civil ceremony, you can have your Las Vegas wedding at the Marriage Commissioner’s Office. The Clark County Marriage License Bureau is responsible for issuing Las Vegas marriage licenses. It is not necessary to be a US citizen before you can get married in Las Vegas, though your home country may require a certified copy of your Las Vegas marriage certificate, along with an apostille released by the Nevada Secretary of State.
