Atlanta City and Travel Guide

Plan a Visit to Atlanta, Georgia Now

You have probably heard of Atlanta, Georgia in the past but only in passing. If you were to get more in-depth knowledge about Atlanta, you might be persuaded to pay a visit if only to find out if what you have read and heard about the city are true.

Worlds largest aquarium

One nice reason to go to Atlanta is to take a look at the largest aquarium in the world, the Georgia Aquarium. You could also take the kiddies to the Zoo Atlanta so they can get to know more about our animal friends who are housed in that attraction.

Jimmy Carter library and museum

Or perhaps you would like to wander around the Carter Center, at the Jimmy Carter Library and Museum. The Carter Center is renowned for its socio-civic activities, specifically promoting world peace and democracy, combating blindness and the spread of disease, guarding the environment, educating farmers on agricultural techniques, and attempting to eradicate the stigma attached to mental illness.

Art from the Louvre in Paris

If art is what gets you excited, then you are in luck because the Musee de Louvre has joined forces with the High Museum of Art which has allowed hundreds of masterpieces from the Louvre Paris collections to be brought to Atlanta, Georgia. Americans now have a chance to look at these great pieces of art from fall of 2006 to 2009 without having to travel all the way to Europe just for that.

Looking for love in the city for lovers - Atlanta

Couples are also quite welcome to strengthen their relationship in Atlanta – the city for lovers. They may opt to visit the popular rooftop restaurants of Nikolai’s Roof, or Sundial, then spend an evening enjoying performances at the Fox Theater, or the Woodruff Arts Center. It is also possible for couples (and even families) to take part in a leisurely afternoon picnic lunch at either the Centennial Olympic Park, or the Piedmont Park. Then, if you and your loved ones get an urge to sample fine wine, you could go to the Chateau Elan Winery and Resort to purchase a bottle of red wine or two.

Margaret Mitchell House and Museum

The Barnsley Garden Resort, the Jolie Day Spa, and the Hammam are some places to patronize if you want some old-fashioned pampering at a great spa. After you have rested and been refreshed at the spa, you might then turn your steps to the Atlanta Botanical Park where you can breathe the fresh air wrought by all the greenery surrounding you. Afterwards, the family might enjoy it if you took them to the Stone Mountain Park to watch the fabulous laser show, or maybe the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum where everyone can get to know more about one of the classic love stories – Gone with the Wind.
